What exactly is a Monarch Mission?
It is a live, self-propelled outdoor experience that turns Edinburgh into your gameboard. Your team receives a mission, follows intelligence through the city and makes decisions together to complete a clear objective.
How long does a mission take?
Allow approximately two hours for the mission itself. We recommend arriving early enough to receive your briefing and get your team ready before the clock starts.
Is it an escape room?
Not quite. There is no single room and no fixed route. You will move through real streets and hidden corners of Edinburgh, using clues, live updates and your own judgement to progress.
How physical is the experience?
Expect a city-centre walking experience with periods of brisk movement. Hunted is the most active mission. Tell the team about accessibility or mobility requirements when enquiring so the right experience can be recommended.
Who can take part?
Missions are designed for friends, families, visitors and workplace teams. Under-18s should take part with a responsible adult. The team can advise on the best mission for your group.
What happens in bad weather?
Edinburgh weather is part of the atmosphere, so missions normally continue in light rain. Bring suitable footwear and layers. If conditions are unsafe, the team will contact you about the available options.
Can you run private corporate events?
Yes. Corporate missions can be tailored around group size, timings and your team’s goals, with private briefings and a shared finish.
